Eleanor Gray#

Summary#

Eleanor Gray is the ghost of Aldric’s mother, trapped in the ethereal plane beyond the Curtain in the Westermere Manor undercroft. She named her son after King Aldrich the Wise. She was enthralled by a dark force — the same spirit that commands the undead beyond the black veil — and recently escaped its control. She cannot return to the material realm but can communicate with those who pass through the Curtain. Source: 2026.09.29.

• She says this entity is why the Curtains are acting strangely and why spirits dying in Havenport are trapped.
• She showed Azrith how to return to the material realm: jump from a ledge into an ethereal abyss — the same way she last came through the Curtain.
• She was emotional when Azrith promised to tell Aldric her message, climbing up him and looking into his eyes.
• She asked if Aldric was safe, well, and happy. Azrith said he seemed fairly happy on the outside.
• She smiled with relief when she learned Aldric was not alone — he travels with friends.
