Father Caldus Vey#

Summary#

Father Caldus Vey is a middle-aged priest of the Royal Chapel working the healer tents at the King’s Fair. He treated Aldric’s exhaustion after the King’s Cup, casting Greater Restoration (capped at three castings per day) for a fee of 100 gp in diamond dust plus a 300 gp materials cost, sweetened by a 100 gp donation from Cassian—400 gp total. Notes#

• Warm and welcoming, quick to invite passersby in “to pray.”
• Cares for patients overnight in his sanctuary; made Aldric a makeshift bed and dressed him in spare Royal Chapel robes after his ruined clothes were discarded.
• Curious about Aldric’s tiefling heritage, gently probing about his “blood curse” (red skin, horns) and offering a “path of redemption” without pressing when Aldric brushed it off.
• Mentioned that House Oswall clerics have recently moved into the fairgrounds as an alternative option, and that tournament healers exist but are normally gated behind noble access or steep fees.

Relationships#

• Aldric: Treated his exhaustion over the course of a night and morning.
• Cassian: Negotiated payment with him directly.
