Kardis Wulfhelm#

Summary#

Kardis Wulfhelm is a young noble, likely a prince of House Wulfhelm, seen at Slug’s cookhouse during the King's Tourney. He has somewhat pointed ears, very long bright white hair, and wore shiny black armor. Source: 2026.05.05.

Notes#

• Aldric recognized Kardis by reputation and knew him to be reckless.
• Cassian knew House Wulfhelm won last year’s tournament and currently controls the Thornwood Vale.
• Kardis used an attendant to quietly move nearby patrons so he and his companion could have more space.
• He watched the party, especially Aldric, and whispered to his black-armored companion.
• Confirmed as the party’s Menagerie-tier bracket rival, per Holt’s bracket board and Rory’s reaction (2026.08.18). Also called “Cardus” in dialogue (same pronunciation/character). Prince and heir apparent of House Wulfhelm; per Rory, “one of the best” swordsmen in the house, though not the very best. Cassian privately calls him a “pompous prick.” Both camps have reportedly been scouting each other unusually closely ahead of the bout. Source: 2026.08.18.
• Clarified (2026.08.25): the Menagerie pits contestants against released monsters, not rival champions directly, so the party does not fight Kardis in the ring—his team was bracketed near them and (per an Unseen Servant’s scouting) fought a manticore in the match just before the party’s own manticore bout. Relationships#

• House Wulfhelm: Kardis is tied to the ruling family of the house.
• Aldric: Aldric once served a vassal house beneath House Wulfhelm.
• Compete in the King's Tourney: The party’s confirmed Menagerie-bout opponent.
