Samantha Westermere#

Summary#

Samantha Westermere is the ghost of a daughter of House Westermere. She is a floating, silvery woman whose hair drifts in an ethereal wind, haunting the undercroft of her family’s home, Westermere Manor. She died in her own room there after “many catastrophes” led to her house’s fall. She refuses to pass on until the living restore Havenport to how it was in her childhood. Source: 2026.09.22.

Notes#

• She emerged after Azrith leapt into the Curtain: “Bold of your friend to take the gate.” She explained that it is “a curtain to the realm of death”, and that Azrith may return “if he survives” when it reopens, in a day or a week. She has seen groups go through it together.
• She showed the party the black veil, which is impenetrable to her. She said she learned “more in the last five minutes than I have in the last five years” from watching them touch it, and believes it is tied to the Curtain.
• Invited the party to stay in the manor’s rooms, but warned that residents of “the other side” might try to possess them.
• Playful and a little cagey. She blushed at Cassian’s flirting, and he promised to return: “A Fortescue always keeps their promise.”
• Doesn’t know Ian, the Oathkeeper upstairs.

• Revealed that House Wulfhelm killed her family 15 years ago after her family learned a dire Wulfhelm secret. She and her family lie beyond the black veil. See Uncover the Westermere-Wulfhelm Coup. Source: 2026.09.29.
• Odine Dunmere told Mauve Marigold that the party had spoken with Samantha again and that she sent her regards. Mauve called that very kind of her. No such conversation was shown in play. Source: 2026.10.06.
