House Wulfhelm#

Summary#
House Wulfhelm is one of the three most powerful noble houses in the Crownlands. The GM’s stated faction theme: Militant Peace—military dominance framed as the guarantor of order rather than raw conquest. They won last year’s King's Tourney and currently hold the title and deed to the Thornwood Vale. The other two dominant houses are House Godrin (Mage Power) and House Corwyn (Truth Seekers). Lineage#
The house descends from Beowyn, who was deeded lands by King Aldrich centuries ago. A very old Beowyn, fourth of his line, remains the great-grandfather of the household. His son Eodwin is the current salt-and-pepper knightly lord who rules the house, and Kardis Wulfhelm is likely Eodwin’s son. Source: 2026.05.05.
Notes#
- Aldric once worked as a soldier or security for a vassal house beneath House Wulfhelm.
- Cassian’s family house is a vassal of House Wulfhelm; this gave him enough credibility to negotiate lodging in the house’s noble camp section (Boarhead Tor) for one night. Source: 2026.05.19.
- Their prized tournament champion is Ser Calder Ross, a weaponless pugilist who fights with armored gauntlets. He won last year’s tournament for the house. The Masked Figure identified him as one of the major obstacles the party will face. Source: 2026.05.19.
- Kardis Wulfhelm had a full bedchamber tent reserved at Boarhead Tor for his return party the night before the party’s first bout. Source: 2026.05.19.
- Currently holds the title/deed to the Thornwood Vale from last year’s win. Confirmed black armor (in contrast to House Godrin’s white). Has traded control of the Vale back and forth with House Godrin for nearly a decade via the tournament. Per Blackwood, Wulfhelm’s self-image is that their strength and status entitle them to win. Source: 2026.08.18.
- The party’s Menagerie-tier bout is confirmed against Kardis Wulfhelm himself—prince and heir of the house, one of its best swordsmen—not Ser Calder Ross, who remains above this bracket. Source: 2026.08.18.
- House Fortescue (Cassian’s family) and House Troth (Aldric’s former house) are both vassals of House Wulfhelm. Notably, Duke Tristan Blackwood—despite knowing many circles—has never once heard Wulfhelm publicly acknowledge House Fortescue as a vassal, an unresolved thread. Source: 2026.08.18.
Relationships#
- House Godrin: Rival; trades the Vale deed back and forth.
- House Corwyn: Fellow big-three house; rivals.
- House Fortescue: Vassal; publicly unacknowledged.
- House Troth: Vassal; Aldric’s former house.
- Kardis Wulfhelm: Prince and heir; tournament rival to the party.
- Ser Calder Ross: Prized tournament champion.
