Uncover the Westermere-Wulfhelm Coup#

Status#

Active. A subquest of Havenport. On 2026.09.29, the ghost Samantha Westermere revealed that House Wulfhelm killed her family 15 years ago. Source: 2026.09.29.

What Samantha Revealed#

  • House Wulfhelm staged the coup. Her family and herself lie beyond the black veil.
  • Beowyn Wulfhelm and Eodwin Wulfhelm were involved — they were dear friends with Samantha’s father. Beowyn was proud to know her father; her father was proud to know Beowyn. Samantha played with Eodwin’s current wife as a child.
  • Her father and Beowyn’s brother learned something dire about House Wulfhelm — a secret they hoped to keep quiet. It was too late. House Wulfhelm knew her family knew their secret, and they staged a trap.
  • Samantha doesn’t know all the details — it happened so quickly. “They know not what they doomed our people to.” Source: 2026.09.29.

What This Connects To#

  • The fall of House Westermere — the town lost ships, merchants, trade, economy and infrastructure 15 years ago. The family went missing in an instant. Source: 2026.09.29.
  • The black veil — appeared in the undercroft after the Curtain opened. Samantha said the wall wasn’t there in her lifetime and is likely tied to the Curtain. Her family is beyond it. Source: 2026.09.22.
  • The Wither in Havenport — Mauve said the Wither began creeping in over the following years after the Westermere fall. She believes Westermere “brought something dark and evil into that manor all those years ago” and their fall was the consequence. Source: 2026.09.29.
  • House Wulfhelm — the family that killed the Westermeres. Beowyn and Eodwin are the named parties. Source: 2026.09.29.
  • The Spirit Behind the Veil — if the truth lies beyond the veil, confronting the spirit may also mean confronting what Wulfhelm did. Source: 2026.09.29.

Leads#

  • Samantha Westermere — the living source. She doesn’t know all the details but knows more than she’s said. She refuses to pass on until Havenport is restored.
  • Beowyn Wulfhelm and Eodwin Wulfhelm — the named participants. Are they still alive? Are they still in House Wulfhelm’s good graces? Do they know the secret themselves?
  • The black veil — the truth is beyond it. On 2026.10.06 the party learned the price of passage: 10 HP of maximum hit points in shared life force. They plan to attempt it next. Source: 2026.10.06.
  • House Westermere note — update with the full story.

Next Steps#

  • Press Samantha for everything she remembers about the coup — what her father and Beowyn’s brother discovered.
  • Investigate whether Beowyn and Eodwin are still active in House Wulfhelm, and whether they know the party is asking questions.
  • Find a way to pass through the black veil and recover what’s beyond it — including whatever the Westermeres discovered.
